We moved from VT to NC a couple years ago. Our yorkies were 9 and 10 years old at the time. We took it in 2 days, and stayed at a hotel that accepted pets. Neither one of them had any problems, didn't get sick, didn't go off their food, and rode well. They didn't even have any accidents in their wire crate. Every time we stopped, we walked them. It was absolutely fine.
