Oh, I am so sorry that Peyton has to have surgery but it sounds like he is in the very excellent care of a trained orthopedist who will know just what to do. I would think the younger he is the better he will accomodate to the surgery and do well as they are bypassing his growth plate entirely. My boss does tyis type surgery on certain children and they do far better than adults having it and I wonder if the same isn't true for any young warm-blooded species. If he had to have orthopedic surgery at all in his life, this is probably the best age to have it. As far as puppyhood, he, being a Yorkie, will probably be a puppy at heart until he is quite old and take all of this in his stride. I'm so glad you took him to the best place possible for care. My prayers are with Peyton and you.
