Excellent suggestion. OP, if I were you, I would be looking for a way to get that MRI done. Otherwise the vet is working in a bit of a void...and guessing. Just not a great way to deal with something so serious.
I will pray for Polo and that you find a way to get him the testing and/or care he needs.
