It's definitely too much of a generalization. I had met three Yorkies before getting Ellie and chose a girl from my experience with the others.

I've heard the boys can be really snuggly, but my girl is the snuggliest dog I've ever met. She can be independent and loves to play, but she could spend hours in the crook of an arm. And she doesn't like many males - at all - in fact, she hates them...
