Default Can use some advice PLEASE

I am having trouble with Isabella anytime we leave the house, she's 16 months old, and this is somethng that started about 2 months ago. I crate her when we are not home, and my husband and I work opposite shifts so she's not alone more than a couple of hours. She goes into the crate when I tell her too, but when I leave she goes crazy, jumping, biting the crate, crying , she even goes pee in the corner of the crate and then it's all over her paws when we get home, the other thing is, I put a blanket on the bottom of the crate so she's not laying on the metal, and she chews it so bad I have to keep replacing it,and I'm affraid she will swallow the peices. I can't give her any stuffed animals to keep her company, she will just destroy them, I do put in one of her kongs or other hard toys and I give her a few cherrios. I've thought about leaving her out of the crate and just gating her in the kitchen. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions????? I feel so bad for her
