We all got up to go look, I thought it was a squirrel hurt in the driveway it was THAT BIG. We got up to it, and it was a tarantula. The size of my hand, and I have pretty darned big hands. (I really didn't believe we had tarantulas in AZ, until I looked it up. YES we sure do. This guy was a monster. Even though I dislike spiders, I wouldn't let anyone touch it. I carefully let it cross the driveway into the bushes in the front yard.) By the time my hubby got home, 20 minutes later, he was long gone. He thinks I'm exaggerating when I say as big as my hand, but no way, no exxageration at all!!! Actually could be under estimating his size. I so wish I had a camera at the time to get a pic!! You definitely got a good pic though.
OMG I would flip out if I saw one of them. I don't think we have them here, but they do live in other parts of Texas.
