I'm not sure if they realize how much time has passed. I do know that the few times I went out of town to visit my family, when I came home, the dogs went overly ballistic!

In hindsight, I must say, that they were feeding on my excitment at seeing THEM! I had missed them dreadfully, and was guilty of being over-excited at seeing them. When my hubby came home after being gone a few weeks, they gave him the polite greeting, as if he had just been gone a few hours. (he'd been gone weeks, as his job made him transfer, & I am stubbornly refusing to leave my house, fenced in yard, etc) Sorry I know it makes me sound harsh, but what apartment allows 4 dogs? Okay, it was only 3 dogs when he had to move 2 hours away....but I had extra room in the bed.....:P

Yogi did go nutz for him a few minutes...but gotta say, the only reason my hubby calls these days is to talk me into letting him have Yogi....He loves him! Again, I think Yogi was feeling his excitement at seeing him, & responded in kind. And honestly, if my hubby wasn't my yorkie's 2nd fave person, I would probably relent....but he is my shadow, I'm his #1, & the only reason hubby wants him is because he is well-trained & very smart. I can't take the credit for his being well-trained...he just naturally figures it out.
