I do this every once and awhile. Its a short term solution obviously- but I will look through what I have and get rid of things I no longer use. I sell electronics on craigslist and recently used gazelle.com and ebay instant sale to unload some electronics I no longer use. I sell dog items on here. I usually have a garage sale each summer and get rid of clothes and odds and ends there. Obviously, it is not a steady income type solution but it does help de-clutter the house and make some money at the same time.
