Default Jumping on visitors

Shadow loves to greet people at the door and places her front paws on their leg for them to pick her up. This is how she "asks" to get up on my lap. She's not aggressive, very gentle.

Now...while this doesn't seem to bother anyone, my 4 yr old grandson is coming to visit in two weeks and while Shadow bearly reaches mid calf to adults, she will most likely be closer to chest height on my grandson. My grandson is not afraid of her at all, but I don't want him to start being leery of her. Shadow has been around my grandson before and my 8 yr old granddaughter is a daily visitor (I watch her after school), so she's used to kids. She's 10 1/2 months old and very affectionate.

But how do you teach a Yorkie not to jump up at people? They are so darn low to the ground, you don't even notice until you feel those two little paws.

I would also like to know how to calm her when someone comes to the door. She gets excited and if you're holding her, very wiggly. She almost leaped out of my son's arms one time. Scary. If we are sitting on the sofa, I will just hold her until she quiets, then let her greet whoever.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
