I am sorry to hear that your puppy is ill. Puppies can get worse so quickly that it's really important to have them under a vet's care. Coughs and colds can turn into pneumonia very fast in young pups as it can also in older dogs. It can be very severe, so I personally wouldn't fool around with it. Your vet would be the best one to be making any recommendations as to how to treat your puppy, including any additional supplements you may be thinking would be helpful.

If you're not seeing any improvement, your vet should be made aware as a change in antibiotics may be needed...

I hope your pup recovers quickly...
