Aw darn! I think I talked up the scariness too much
! It scared the crap outa me...and I had nightmares about something like that happening at our house. Yes, it was based upon the senselessness of the Manson murders...where the murderers are killing for no other reason than torture and their 'pleasure' of killing (rather than for, say, money or revenge or whatever)

Winters Bone was amazing!! It's not a horror movie, but it was scary/creepy in a very real life sort of way. Some of the best acting I've seen in a long time.
