When I got Apple, Chuck was only 7 mo old and I had the same concern about the pee pads. But thankfully Chuck was fully trained and Apple just followed his lead and started to use the pee pads from day one (you know- apart from the occasional puppy accidents ). Chuck is 2 now and Apple is 1 ½ and they are using the same pad. The only down side to this is that you need to change the pads more often…
