Yes, that's fine. Just make sure you're using a real calcium supplement and not Tums. The supplement I use is dosed so 1 tablet is good for a 20 pound non-nursing dog. I give my girls 1/2 tab twice a day. They seem to like it and just eat it right up though sometimes I break the half in half just so it's not such a big piece.

As for the poop issue, your vet is your best resource now. We can give you general info, but always keep in mind that we don't see your baby...your vet does. From your post, it doesn't sound too worrisome at this point but do keep an eye on her. Also, a vaginal discharge is normal at this time, but watch out for a smelly discharge or her running a fever. These would be signs of infection.

If Sadie's coat is long, you can cut some of the hair back or just use bands to tie it out of the way to help keep it clean. Also, with a long coat, you have to watch to make sure the babies don't get tangled in it. Tying it back helps with that issue, too.
