A man came in to the trucking company I work for and filled out an application for a truck driving position. It was my job to do the previous employment checks - the first employer was the correctional facility a few towns over. He listed he drove truck in the past but was recently employed as a gardener/grounds keeper for the facility. So I made the call to check his work habits and the person on the other end said (in a rather jolly voice - you could tell he was chuckling) that this man was always on time and did a good job. I asked if there was anything he could add that might help make a decision - to which he answered - "he was an inmate here that was part of his work program"! LOL - he didn't "really" lie! |
