I'm glad that everyone is alright and you and Marge were able be there quickly to help. Did they catch whoever did this to them? That is just disgusting.
My mom is alone during the day while my sister and BIL work and I always worry about her as well. Then again they have 2 Dobermans to keep watch over Mom.
As for Basil accidents happen.
My sister's Doberman puppy broke a leg not that long ago too. She went to get up and got it caught in the foot board of the bed. It was about a year ago and she is totally fine now recovering well. You and Marge take excellent care of your dogs and Basil will recover well. I'm sure your BIL feels horrible and didn't mean for this to happen. Try not to be too angry at him.
