Just came back from the vet. She said that the discoloration around his anus looks to be just pigmentation. I could have sworn it used to be pink, but oh well. He does have black and pink pigmentation in his mouth as well, so that could explain the color. As for the discomfort toby is feeling and the scratching of the butt she is treating him for tapeworms. I told her that I washed Toby's bum this morning and I thought something sort of beige was poking out but I couldn't get it off. So anyway, that led her to believe that it might be tapeworms. He was dewormed as a pup, but not for tapeworms. I hope that's it. She also said that he was constipated, so we shall see what happens today. This is such I gross topic....isn't it?????
As for his anal glands...nothing there to speak of. Anyway thanks for everyone's help and concern.
