I think a well bred Yorkie's ear are more likely to stand on their own, but a lot plays in to such things. My Yorkies are extremely well bred and one ended up having ears that were slow to stand, so based on that I'd have to say the answer to your question is 'no' (on whether or not needing a little extra help is a fault - whereas ears that absolutely won't stand would be considered a fault)
