My vet advised me against any of the internal tear stain removers (Angel Eyes being one of them) because they have an antibiotic in them and continual usage of them is problematic for small dogs (not sure it affects large dogs vet specified small dogs only and that's their specialty) because then when the dog needs antibiotics-weather it be ear drops only for an ear infection, liquid, or pills of even given at vets in and IV the vet needs to know there's been continual usage of antibiotics to then give the proper antibiotic in a different than normal dosage. My vet further specified that often dogs that have been using any product with an antibiotic they see that those dogs often have to receive treatment with pharmaceutical antibiotics for longer period or more than one regiments back to back to clear infection as they become "immune" or their body is "resistant" to antibiotics due to the continual exposure. Antibiotics are found now in a plethora of dog products even some shampoos! For tear staining (and beef staining) I have a white Miniature Schnauzer (this is the schnauzer show ppls secret don't say I gave it out LOL)
I'm getting a soft kissE cone to do it next time she uses her paws to wipe at it...and I do mine firs thing in the morning and then take it off with a bath before bed.
Tear/Beef Stain Recipe:
1 tsp each of Milk of magnesia, corn starch, and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Mix it into a paste, then apply to stained areas and let it dry overnight. Then you can bathe her the next day. This might have to be done a couple times.

1 good squirt of DAWN dish soap
3 tbs lemon juice (watch around eyes it will burn)
...rub in leave for 10 minutes rinse and repeat for three days once a day |
Thanks for the information! I have always been a little worried about using the Angel Eyes but this is suppose to be all natural. Think it may be too good to be true. Who knows!!
Thanks for the skunk smell tip. My outside dog, a beagle, has been sprayed and smells yucky!! I will have to try this mixture.
