I understand your fear. The decision to cut is a tough one. Wish we could have it both ways.
Max has the same problem as Louis, especially when I allow him to mark/lift his leg outside. I basically wash his belly and some of his "skirt" every single day. With both Max and Teddy, I trimmed a little of the hair on their bellies in front of their pee strings. That helped a lot.
Nancy's Joey has a great cut. He has long head hair and leg hair, with everything else trimmed short.
