Poppy did this for a little while too.
She has been house trained since she was around 6 months old, but a few months ago began to pee in her crate at night. I tried everything from making sure she peed before bed, getting up in the night and everything to sort it out. In the end she just stopped doing it, so I dont know what happend.
It lasted a couple of weeks so I assume she just grew out of it or she was sleeping better at night. When asleep your urinary system slows down which is why you dont have to pee as often as when your awake, I assume she wasnt sleeping all the way through the night at those times.
Try taking her for more walks through out the day to tire her out.
