His spirit will wan now and again but behind the treatments, you will see him again no matter the outcome. He knows you are doing your very best for him just as you always have. I think I have an inkling of what you feel when he jumps to go with you, I have seen that in one of mine under similar circumstances. Sometimes you can just carry them outside and sit them in the sunshine a few minutes on your lap and have a little talk. It is a change in his new routine and perhaps just the sun on his face will give him a "sweet sensation" even if it is not what he wanted. Bless your indulgence and vigilance.
