Sassy was spayed 11 days ago at the spay-neuter and went through a very rough time of dehydration and refusal to eat after the spay. She JUST began eating again and drinking normally, this was after a trip to the vet for IV fluids and stomach meds.

I say DEFINITELY get the pre-anesthetic bloodwork. Sassy had it and it is a good indicator of any pre-existing problems before surgery. If she has had hernia surgery previously, I would STILL do the pre-testing, just because a yorkie's health can change
