Wow. I don't know what to say other than ~ if you are getting bad vibes and have concerns; it's best to lay it all on the table with her now and sooner rather than later.
One thing that was important to me was being able to visit and meet the breeder and pups prior to bringing one home.
Were you able to do that?
Sounds like you are so excited for this puppy and Friday is almost here . . . yes, I would want to see the contract prior to picking up my puppy. If there was a death in the family; then certainly I can understand some delays in getting back to you.
Hopefully, you will get some other responses. I would want to have a frank and open discussion prior to picking up my pup. This is a big decision you are making.
