Healthy teeth with no build up look white. Yellow/beighe rims mean buildup and should be professionally cleaned by a veterinarian.
Regarding bleeding gums - as with us, the best way to deal with bleeding gums is to keep brushing and stimulating the gums, that's how they heal. Also make sure the toothbrush is not too hard. I use a baby soft on my dogs.
