Hello all
I got my little Maggie my little yorkie about 4 weeks ago, when I took her for her vaccinations I was told she had a bad heart murmur. She has now had a scan on her heart and she has PDA. I have been told that without surgery she would be likely to die within a year.
She is having surgery in 2 weeks time as she is only 13 weeks old she has to have full heart surgery and have her chest opened (if she was a larger dog I was told the can do the op through a vein).
The cost is around £3,500 which I am hopefull may be partly covered on her insurance although as it is something she was born with may not.
I am so worried for her having such a big op, plus she will be in hospital for over a week she is so small.
Has anyone else had this problem with thier puppy? If so how did it go. Each time I cuddle her it makes me want to cry because of what she has to go through
