Use caution when giving a probotic as a supplement. Some probotics contain phosphate/phosphorus which can cause kidney problems. A recent visit to the vet indicated a rise in BUN and creatine levels in my dog. The only thing new added to his diet was the probiotic supplement. We swore by it until the vet visit. I'm not saying that they're not good to add as supplement, just use with caution. Since taking Mocha off the probiotic his kidney levels appear to have returned to normal functioning.
