i personally haven't travelled with my new baby but will do so in august.
However, my mom brought mickey from Toronto Canada to Seoul Korea and the process wasn't bad at all. However it will still cost you lots of money.
Mom had to buy mickey a hard carrier, make sure all the shots were up to date and get his teeth cleaned & pulled & ask the vet to provide a documentation.
Mickey flew with my mom in the cabin direct for the 14 hour flight.
I would look into the customs of Taiwan as well as the airline of bringing an animal in to help you decide.
