I noticed the same thing in other threads. In the 'kitty kitty' thread, some say "oh, I can't watch that, but where can I sign the petition?" And how many are against puppy mills but don't want to see images from one and really be informed?
Sorry if this sounds like a little bit of a rant...I guess it is. I just don't see much good coming from burying our heads in the sand. |
it's not that i want to bury my (or anyone's) head/s in the sand, i consider myself a very strong animal rights activist. but with the way my mind works, when i read something moving (good or bad), it reallly becomes ingrained in my mind. me, personally, i can't tolerate the disgusting stories & footage, i will actually mute the aspca commercial, because if i do not i will become plagued with depression. i still give when i can and would open my home to a million dogs if i had the means. i'm well aware of the many horrible things out there and would never knowingly support them. when i come to YT i want to be educated & supported. i want to do what i can to make the world better and everything, i just can't live my day-to-day life with these terrible images in my mind. though i do not seek them out, i am still aware, and do whatever i can in my power to put an end to it.
