I'm trying to figure out what I can and can't feed him, and I would prefer to make his meals cause I believe it's cheaper. Every book I find suggests feeding a premium food like Iams or Eukanuba... that and my vet said that grain free foods have higher protein, but NOW! is one of the lowest protein grain free foods out there.

I'm looking for something that says this is how much protein your dog needs, this is how you calculate whats in stuff you make, he needs this much of this and that. etc.

I am open to any suggestions, I love to read and would really love to find a good book that could help me on this one.
The book I really love is Dr. Pitcairn's complete guide to NATURAL HEALTH FOR DOGS & CATS. I don't use the recipes in it because I like making my own.
