Mary-Alice, the owner of Dog Jaunt : Traveling with a small dog has a 13lb Cavalier KC Cocker Spaniel who travels everywhere with her. If it weren't for her, Cooper and I would never have been able to travel. I struggled with information.

I agree with this. Your dog at 11 pounds should definitely fit into a medium Sherpa bag. I just got finished with a 6 hour flight on Delta using my medium sherpa for my 9lb Jamie. She had tons of room in the bag. She mostly just laid down and went to sleep. I had also flown previously with my Jessie, a 15 pound Yorkie. At that time we used the large sherpa which is tecnically not legal but in 10 years of flying, no one ever bothered us.
