I, too, just went out in the cold and pouring rain and waited there calmly and mater-of-factly until the pottying was done. Ugh! Tibbe was scared of the hard rain at first but eventually got the idea I was there, I was cool with it and he would be okay too if he'd just get it over with. Finally, he did!!! Nice towel off and warm hairdryer warms up cold little feet and soaked hair - yours too. Not what I would recommend with a very, very young puppy as it could really scare them as babies but since you did not say, would assume yours aren't really young babies. Tibbe still is reluctant to go out when sheets of water come falling out of the sky but once he is out in it, he is fine with it on his own while I wait just inside the door and goes potty and even runs around and plays all the while I am cajoling him to come back into the house. There is not too much fun about potty training outisde in the rain except the celebration you have with your Yorkie once the job is done!!! |
