Cooper is my mixed breed Yorkie/Maltese mix. I haven't cut his hair in months. I've been attempting to grow it but it's a very cottony thick coat and with the summer heat quickly approaching I don't think it's going to work out. I also brush it about twice per day for at least 1/2 hour each time and still can't keep up with the mats. I have always cut his hair very short around his entire body including his face. But now I love the little top knot and his facial hair and want to keep that. So I'm thinking a short body (not shaved) and a longer face. I love his chin area but I'm just not sure how that gets blended. I don't know what to ask or show their groomer.
I decided yesterday I'm going to continue growing Max's hair. His hair is so easy to manage and requires about a 2 minute brushing per day. I also don't think his hair will weigh him down in the summer.
