I would let it heal. We were told by our regular vet, rehab vet, and neurologist, to not even bathe Layla during flare-ups with her discs, because dogs just can't help but to shake when wet! Put off the grooming until absolutely 100% better... which is usually 6-8 weeks of rest after the disc issue begins. Until it is completely healed, it is very very easy to re-injure the same spot.
