I use a pin brush when they are wet or damp and sometimes even when they are dry...I use a boar bristle brush when they are all but dry, or after I lightly mist them with a spritz. So I'd have to say I need them both.

I buy my boar bristle brushes at Sally Beauty Supply. I buy my pin brushes from pet edge. Sally's has lots of different brands of boar brushes made for human hair, and I love them. Don't really have a favorite.
