Retained Baby Canines and Bad Reactor to Vaccines My Sweet Dee had a horrible reaction to the Lyme Disease Vaccine in October of last year, with a really swollen face. It was a delayed reaction (after the benadryl shot had worn off), about 5 hours after the vaccine was given. Friday we dropped her off at the vet and they gave her 3 vaccines without us knowing it--and (surprise) she had another delayed reaction. Obviously we are done with this vet who couldn't figure out he needed to read her chart carefully. Here's my next question:
Should we still do a dental for her?
She has retained canines that the vets keep telling us we need to have removed, and we understand why. But because of her bad reactions to the vaccines, I'm really hesitant to have her under anesthesia, even though she did fine with it during her spay. Her Canines are right next to each other, don't overlap but do tend to gather gunk. But if it only takes me having to brush her teeth every day instead of risking the anesthesia, I'll do it. |
