It really is a matter of preference. Some people will exclaim never in a million years will they pit a bow on their boy's hair. I use to be one of them.
I didn't want to do bows because I didn't want people to honk he was a girl. Well... I had Kaji in a really short puppy cut. He was super cute! Yet, everyone always asked me if he was a girl, even though with his short cut his Mr Peeper was really obvious.
That's when I decided that it doesn't matter. People will think what they want, make nasty comments if they want (my brother does, and they're really hurtful) and I can't stop them. But I can enjoy my yorkie, and Kaji doesn't mind one bit having his hair up or down and let's me put his hair in a Pony tail, a "ninja knot", and a hairclip.
