Well I prefer it as a correction/training method...in another room (never a kennel) where they can't see you for about minute (not seeing is critical-they've the attention span of a one year old so it's pointless to go more than two minutes really, less than one minute often works for me here). taking the attention or love away is actually the most effective method of training...very impactful as even the naughtiest dog in the world is eager to please.
