My husband used to say all he wanted was a chocolate lab, until our ex-sil got a yorkie and saw how attached I got to him on Xmas day, two years ago! He surprised me in May '09 by taking me to pick out our baby Neo. Needless to say, Hubby got just as attached as me, turning into "crazy dog daddy". NOTHING was too good for "HIS boy"! One year later, we got Neo a brother -Connor, and he loves on him like he does a child. There is nothing more manly to me than a guy that LOVES animals, PERIOD!!
