It takes time and some patience....... sounds like you are determined which is good. My DH (who is so helpful with our Yorkies) will brush the dogs while in his chair watching TV sometimes. He is VERY patient and has got Seeger to the point that he really enjoys being fussed over.
When we took Seeger for his first trim (ears, feet, nails) he did very well. I believe it had a lot to do with his breeder giving him trims as a puppy. (Thank-you, Rose! ) He was already used to it and wasn't a bit afraid of the trimmers. I (as well as my groomer) were very pleased.
So keep working at it.... it just takes a little time for them to get used to being "fussed" with.
