Hypoallergenic as in they do not have danger (look up dog dander) which irritates people with allergies (specifically pollen and mold allergies for some reason).

A hypoallergenic dog will not work for someone who is allergic to a dogs

When you are allergic to dogs you are in fact allergic to their saliva
...talk to you pediatrician about a scratch test specifically for dog allergies etc. Also Google what I just told you to be sure you understand.

Myself and my two children all have pollen and mold allergies my son is also allergic to dust mites we must have hypoallergenic dogs but are not allergic to dogs...dog dander irritates me on long term exposure. I really hope it's just something to do with the shampoo...how old is your daughter you bought a Yorkie for?
We have a Yorkie, Miniature Schnauzer and a Schnorkie for that reasoning: they are hypoallergenic, or dander-less dogs, we are not allergic to dogs.

Me the dictionary:
Hypoallergenic means less allergenic or allergy sensitive ...as in a danger less dog...not a dog safe for people who are allergic to dogs. There are no saliva-less dogs.
