It says that, "She noted that while many will recommend that a shelter dog be adopted, she did not want anyone to tell her that she could not buy a puppy from a pet store, if she wanted to. . . .She hinted at “knowing what you are buying when you buy a purebred” – which seemed to mean that you don’t necessarily know what you are getting if you adopt a mixed breed dog from a shelter.
It sounds like she just doen't understand that nobody is saying that she can't buy a purebred. Many people do not know that pet stores get their dogs from puppy mills, she may not understand that it's okay to get her dog from a reputable breeder, just not someone who would sell their dog to a pet store. I use to be very ignorant about this as well. |
