How old is he? I think all mine would chew theirs if I put them in the crate with it on. They get bored so easily.
My smallest female always grabs the leash and starts munching away at it even before the harness is put on her... and she's 4 years old! She just gets so excited to be going out!
She wears it fine on a walk, she associates wearing it with going out, so she doesn't mind it at all. I walk them 2-4 times a day.
