Excellent idea we do a lot of animal oriented fund raiser and events in my area-love them!
However if you have no experience in promoting an event, fund raising, don't let that discourage you...but get some people on board with it that have experience...set yourselves up for success (biggest thing to remember beg, plead, promote everyone into donations to minimize costs-free advertising, signs etc and everyone gets to say they donated it for their own promo). Know your demographics and promote from there: athletes and animal lovers...both donors, participants etc...

Thanks! I was going to ask the people who started the 5k that I am participating in. I know they had to get a permit from our village. I would love any Illinois YTers to show up too. I'm still trying to iron out all the details but I would love to do it!!!
