I think its a great idea!

I participate in Relay for Life every year an last year our local chapter had a Bark for Life for the pups to relay and it went over really well. The funds went toward your donating goal but you had individuals sponsor your pup for each lap instead of you.

Maybe benefit a local shelter or rescue with your money raised? That way hopefully individuals from those organizations can also encourage people to participate.
