I agree with you as well. We just docked our's the other day. Some made noise, some not so much. They don't seem affected by it now and the ones that bled a bit we used some cornstarch to help stop it. Georgia was an excellent mother and cleaned them up and helped stop the bleeding, they were done bleeding in a 1/2 hour. If you want to dock them, just make sure that there is not excessive blood loss or start of infection (very unlikely). If you really don't want to do it yourself, then a vet should be able to help.

I look at it as, when I was a baby, I don't remember all my shots I got in my foot or the spanking of my butt to start crying. I don't find it that traumatic, but this is just my personal opinion.

It really is just a preference. As long as the dog is loved and cared for, that is all that matters to me.
