The lady who bred her doesn't keep them past that age. I wouldn't say she mass-produces (she has 3 small litters right now and one due sometime in June, and she doesn't work so she has the time to care for them), but I didn't realize before-hand that she does send her pups to a local pet store if they don't sell by a certain age.
Granted, the pet store is mom-and-pop and not a chain, but still, that's is the only practice of hers that I completely disagree with.
I'm sure that had I known that beforehand, I most likely would have kept looking. I know the lady, and I know she takes good care of her pups while they are in HER care, and her dogs are all healthy. They even use the same vet I do for my doxie. But that one thing really keeps me up at night.
