My husband has had several epidurals for his back, so I understand your apprehension. Will you be getting the x-ray guided type? DH has had two by this method and two or three simply by the anesthesia Dr. having him bend over while sitting on the hospital bed and injecting the meds "free-handed" so to speak. It was actually less painful to him that way, but MUCH riskier! Don't fret about this procedure, though. You will be taken very good care of and be sure to follow EVERYTHING that you are told afterward! This is very important so that your procedure is a success! Best Wishes to you!
