Lucy ate chocolate not too long ago and I called the ER vet. They quickly calculated her weight; how many pieces she had; the size of each piece (luckily this was all on the bag); and determined that she did not need to come in.
Another thing that influenced their decision was that she had already vomited when I called.
So I did not have to go in; but I did have peace of mind that she was not going to keel over; because chocolate toxity doesn't always happen immediately.
