I had this issue when adding two to my pack...pet her when she eats treat the food aggression with him the same as you..Scoobers will still growl a bit when Princess gets too close I remind him, verbally and sometimes go and pet him. Princess is a naughty food hoarder though she will over eat and finish other's food.
All of my dogs have their own bowl and are only fed from their same own bowl I never switch them or move them from the order they are in they know which bowl is theirs and everyone knows who to be next to on the right or left to get their food. Start this now and stay on it consistency is key.
At the first sign of aggression do not remove all the food remove the food from the one showing aggression and remove the one showing aggression...aggression in any manner earns a time out...one minute removed from the situation in another room
It seems to me you don't really have a food aggression issue you have a territory issue she was there first everything was hers first and food is going to be guarded foremost above all else but you may see toys, favorite spot affection also become an issue if you do not stop aggression now.
You may need to have separate feeders in separate places, but try to deal with the issue by the above and being right there to intervene immediately during feeding times. |
