I started my little pup on Royal Canin puppy food (because that is what his breeder suggested), only after meeting another Yorkie mom who explained that the eye goop he gets could be directly effected by his food, I switched to Orijen puppy food. I educated myself a little bit and learned that Orijen is MUCH better, I had no idea. The price was either the same or literally a couple of dollars more - NO BIG DEAL.
He's not a big eater either way, He eats about 1/4 to 1/2 cup a day and is a good healthy 4.5 or 5lbs. He's super healthy, just not a big food eater (loves his healthy wellness and 100% dried chicken treats though) lol.
I think these little dogs derserve the very best. I somehow feel that if I give him a 5 star food instead of a 3 star food I could actually end up saving money on vet bills later, that's just my thinking... So far so good... There's my 2 cents
